As Technical Coordinator, you will be responsible for the issuance and content of project deliverables, documents and coordination. You will supervise all staff producing documents as well as the implementation of Construction Phase Services in collaboration with the Project Manager and Designers.  Essential to this process is the mentoring of staff to support, develop and monitor the technical quality within the Design practice. This includes all members of the project team and enhances the appreciation of excellent drawings, coordinated information and well-detailed project as part of the overall design culture of the firm.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the overall design intent of the project is incorporated into the preparation of construction documents and administration of the project through construction.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and team(s) to understand/establish project goals and objectives including but not limited to work plan, schedule and budget parameters.
  • Participate in existing conditions surveys and architectural base and/or interior record plans preparation.
  • Monitors the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring the design is consistent and properly executed.
  • Checks completed reports, plans, estimates, sets and calculations for accuracy with Krause project delivery and BIM standards.
  • Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary.
  • Meets with municipal building department and other governing agency officials to coordinate approvals or variances.
  • Ensures that construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control and best practice standards.
  • Attends on-site visits, field reviews and project meetings.  Prepares and coordinates the review of contractor’s schedules, submission of shop drawings and samples.
  • Participates in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, technical issues. Prepares meeting minutes of consultant coordination meetings.

Develop quality review processes which can be implemented at specific points during Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents Phases of Design. Mentors and directs the work of less experienced staff, participates in professional development reviews, “Lessons Learned” and “Hot Topic” sessions.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited United States University.
  • 7-10 plus Years’ experience of professional, commercial interior design or Architecture experience, including corporate/tenant office interiors.
  • Fluency and confidence using Revit and working knowledge of AutoCad is required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Suite Software Applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proven ability in; design, furniture selections/specifications, applicable codes, QA/QC process and construction documentation, construction administration and with the newest technology.
