 Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field

• 10+ years’ experience with field representation positions during construction

• Knowledge of various design trades (architecture, structure, MEP, civil)

• Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process

• Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good knowledge of various codes including Virginia Construction Code, NFPA 101, ADAAG and the 2014 Facility Guidelines (FGI). 

• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

  Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree

• Experience in healthcare projects

• Bluebeam Studio experience

• Registration a plus

Primary Responsibilities

  We are looking for a Construction Administration Architect to initially work on a large Design-Build Healthcare project that is currently under design in Richmond, Virginia. The position will require the employee to report directly to the project site for the workday.

The Construction Administration Architect will:

  Lead the review of architectural submittals and responding to RFI’s

  • Be able to react to real time field conditions and respond quickly due to the aggressive schedule of the project

  • Act as HDR's representative by communicate any modification or decisions to the greater team

  • Create sketches, addenda, and modification drawings in Revit as needed during construction

  • Attend BIM review sessions on site with subcontractors and other consultants regarding clash detection and coordination to help manage conflicts and minimize revisions in the field

  • Possess in depth knowledge of the building’s MEP systems and structure for coordination

  • Participate in design coordination

  • Make informed decisions on site as well as make needed revisions based on Virginia Construction codes.
