GAST ARCHITECTS is an established, well-respected, twelve-person firm in San Francisco’s SOMA district that focuses on both new construction and renovations of custom, high-end residential projects in the Bay Area and beyond.  Our office has a relaxed, professional, and friendly atmosphere.  We support our staff by encouraging continuing education, assisting in the pursuit of licensure, and providing mentoring opportunities by senior staff. 

Our growing office is looking for a person with design talent and technical savvy to work with our principals and project architects to develop innovative designs in a collaborative project team work environment.    Applicants should be able to show skill and experience, or the willingness to learn the following:

 Experience and deep interest in single family residential design, Type V wood-frame construction, residential products, and detailing.  Actual construction experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrate creative critical thinking and presentation skills
  • BIM proficiency in 2-D drafting and 3-D modeling (we are an ArchiCAD office and provide training for those with a BIM background)
  • Experience in developing well-detailed Construction Documents as part of a team
  • Knowledge of codes and regulations.  Local experience in San Francisco is highly valued.
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written
  • Personable, a team player with high integrity and a sense of humor
