Highly motivated, creative interior designer is needed for Lucy Harris, an interior design studio in Chelsea,to be involved with all phases of high-end residential projects.

Lucy Harris harnesses the soul of a space to tell its story – and its owners’ stories. Rooted in modernism and influenced by various design movements, Lucy and her team work collaboratively with clients to create homes that are unique, timeless and reflective of the people who live in them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage decor projects from schematic design through installation
  • Collaborate with principal on developing the design concept for a project
  • Design, source and present interior décor including furniture, lighting, rugs, fabric, accessories and art, including vintage and custom items in collaboration with the principal and other team members
  • Collaborate with operations manager on creation of proposals and purchasing and shipping of all items
  • Coordinate with receiving house, millworkers, electricians, window treatment vendors and general contractors
  • Organize and oversee installation of the project
  • Maintain communication with client
  • Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, receiving houses throughout the entire project to ensure timely installation of project.


  • Must have minimum two years in a high-end residential interior design studio in NYC
  • Experience in managing high-end residential décor projects from the start to installation
  • Fluent in Auto CAD: drafting furniture and electrical plans, elevations and furniture drawings, for presentation and also for pricing from a general contractor, vendor or artisan
  • Fluent in putting together presentations in InDesign and in using MS Office Suite
  • Experience working with a client’s architect on the aesthetic direction of a renovation. Must be able to review shop drawings, review construction sets for design intent and collaborate on the construction administration of a project.
  • Organized, self-starter who can work independently, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional conduct when dealing with clients, vendors and/or peers
