EHDD, a national leader in architecture, interior design, urban planning and sustainability, is seeking a full-time Senior Interior Designer to join the firm.

At EHDD our interior practice is an integral part of our overall design studio, rather than an isolated design effort. Our interior design begins with creating interior environments that harmonize with the architecture of the building and the exterior environment. We appreciate that the experience of a building is continuous from the path through the landscape, to the building approach, the entrance and the journey through interior spaces. We incorporate that experience of place into our design to create environments that are tailored and appropriate to their surroundings while incorporating surprise and delight.

Job Description:

As a Senior Interior Designer, your role is to facilitate the translation of the client’s needs into a beautiful and functional space. Core activities include managing interior project teams on projects of all sizes and levels of complexity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the strategic growth of the practice, contributing to business development and marketing and participating in all phases of design.  The ideal candidate will have proven team leadership capabilities and is able to provide consistent direction to Junior Designers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Actively producing work while balancing business development and marketing initiatives directly connected to new client potential.
  • Leads the interior design process for an entire project including program, budget and time constraints.
  • Guides and develops complex interior architectural detailing
  • Participates in the development of project proposals
  • Understands and participates in planning project schedules and staffing
  • Provides strong leadership and mentorship to the team
  • Leads the selection and specification of furniture, materials and finishes
  • Capable of managing independent TI projects as well as managing interior efforts on larger projects


  • Minimum of ten years diverse experience with a proven record of leadership in design of interior architecture projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of interior design practices with emphasis on programming and design/planning
  • Strong ties to the design community in San Francisco Bay Area
  • Substantial knowledge of building materials, finishes, furniture installation and construction methods as they relate to areas of specialty
  • Ability to network and develop relationships with client and brokers
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and 3D modeling software, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with California Building Code and accessibility requirements
  • NCIDQ Certification preferred
