Summary

INC is seeking someone who can turn a Pinterest board into a unique concept narrative; enjoys a colorful planning exercise; revels in hunting down subtle but exquisite finishes; makes millwork a game, and turns a functional furniture layout into something fabulous all the while dotting your I’s and crossing the T’s.  Understand that this position is not just hard Architecture, but a position straddling architecture and Interior Design—our core ethos.   

As a full-time Architect (may be non-licensed) with 3-5 years of professional experience and a B. Arch or greater with strong design skills and exceptional organizational skills, you should have experience in high-end hospitality and/or residential design and experience performing Contract Administration.   You should also be able to work independently with a wide range of consultants under the supervision of one or more partners.  
 
Tasks

  • Responsible for specific technical design aspects of projects including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions and can independently make decisions on design problems and methods.
  • Supervised client interaction
  • Schematic blocking and planning
  • Building Information Model Management (Revit)
  • Consultant coordination and management
  • Rendering and visualization of space
  • Contract Document production
  • Specifications production
  • Execute DOB and building filing paperwork
  • Understands and implements NYC residential interiors codes; especially accessibility.
  • Contract Administration: submittals, requests for information, site meetings, and field reports.
  • Reports to partners and associates
  • Responsible for managing project task lists
  • Responsible for 2-3 simultaneous projects at different phases of development.

 
Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional Revit experience.  Please show Revit work at both design and documentation level.
  • Understandings rendering and how to make a beautiful image.
  • Candidates must have experience in high-end residential or hospitality experience.
  • Candidates must be legally allowed to work in the US and graduated from an NCARB accredited institution.

Benefits
This salaried position benefits begin after a three month introductory period.  Benefits include two weeks of paid vacation, paid holidays, plus time off between Christmas and the New Year; health, dental, and vision insurance;  a company iPhone; and 401K.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.  Taxes will be withheld from salary as per the requirements of the IRS and New York State.
