We currently have a position available in Orlando, FL area for an Assistant Regional Director, focusing on multifamily, hospitality and mixed use. This individual will represent the Firm’s interests through effective project leadership and actions that advance the Firm’s mission and business interests.  This Senior Architect will serve in a client facing role, regularly interacting with executive decision makers and representing the Firm as an executive and Subject Matter Expert in the multifamily industry.  From initial concept through project completion, this professional’s responsibilities will include: collaborating with clients and consultants to develop overall project design, ensuring design quality via precise documentation and construction, as well as assist the Business Development team to improve the organization’s position within the Region.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creates and develops overall design concepts, formulates design presentation strategies, and delivers engaging client presentations
  • Leverages existing client relationships and portfolio to cultivate new relationships, generate repeat clients and future business referral opportunities
  • Leads client meetings and presentations to assist in developing and communicating the project visions
  • Networks with Clients, Developers, Equity Partners, Consultants and Code Officials for Real Estate and Construction
  • Collaborates with both business developers and architectural staff
  • Attends client meetings scheduled by business developers
  • Knowledgeable of zoning ordinances and the process by which design solutions are quantified, illustrated and explained to approval authorities
  • Possesses thorough understanding of AIA standard contracts and customary scope of services
  • Follows HPA’s design approach and ensures commitment to implementing the approach through construction

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture is required
  • Licensed architect or the ability to become licensed
  • 8+ years of design experience multifamily real estate development including Florida specific experience.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, PhotoShop, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. .
  • Portfolio to include multiple examples of  small to large scale multifamily projects – from high-rise to mixed-use and affordable to luxury housing and hospitality
  • Exhibits innovation and creativity in all projects
  • Strong interpersonal, design and organization skills as well as high attention to detail
  • Develops and articulates  rationale for design concepts and effectively explains them to clients and others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership abilities and mature judgment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals including clients, consultants, code officials and construction trades
  • Thrives in a challenging and fast paced work environment
  • Positive attitude with high energy
  • Travel will be required
