Position Title: Property Design Manager

Principle Objective:

Responsible for supporting the Design Department and ensuring consistent interior and exterior design standards are met at all times. Assist in the coordinating and completion of approved new design projects, development through install of all remodel, maintenance and transition projects, property walk through’s and daily design and operation tasks.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Department Heads and Management team to collaboratively ensure all spaces meet specified Design standards and Food &Beverage and public areas are “in show” status at all times.
  • Collaborate with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food & Beverage Teams to ensure consistent interior design standards are met and all rooms, displays, floor layouts, structures, signage, and any event setups are up to visual standards.
  • Coordinate and lead all daily & weekly walk through’s with facilities team including Food & Beverage, Engineering, Housekeeping.
  • Responsible for assisting in the development, processing and follow through of all remodel, repair and maintenance projects.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate requests and projects that require approval or input from Design Team and FF&E funds.
  • Assist in ensuring that clear and accurate daily/weekly reporting of active, pending and completed projects for Operations & FF&E are maintained and understood within the property and that all departments are kept abreast of their related projects on an ongoing basis including Facilities punch lists.
  • Receive and process all Maintenance, Repair, and Project requests submitted by departments.
  • Interact with departments and vendors to ensure all requests are being completed satisfactorily and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate all approved projects with selected departments and vendors. Ensure that all necessary communications are handled in a proactive and professional manner.
  • Assist departments with the preparation of scopes of work, requests for proposals, project schedules related to renovation and maintenance projects.
  • Assist departments in overseeing and ensuring the accurate production of bid/construction sets and that the documents are completed in a timely manner, including needed permits, ensuring that design and construction documents meet all requirements.
  • Work with Finance and review all bids, proposals and invoices to ensure proper budget and payment for both Operations and FF&E.
  • Assist in ensuring that all information necessary to prepare and distribute the Project Documents has been assimilated and that the documents are distributed accurately and on time with construction schedules and timelines.
  • Ability to thrive in a very fast paced environment and commit to project needs/expectations on an individual basis – adapting, accepting and applying immediate changes.
  • Problem solving in situations without an easy answer; troubleshooting issues before they happen.

 Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • 1-3 years' related experience in engineering, facilities management, construction or project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience managing renovations and/or construction projects.  
  • 1-3 years experience in coordinator responsibilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to change focus when needed while making regular progress on assigned projects.
  • Must have strong computer skills and excellent conversational skills.
  • Must be able to laugh at the impossible and enjoy a challenge.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of CAD, excellent organization, problem solving, and negotiating skills. Ability to coordinate multiple long-term projects, control costs and ensure deadlines are met.  Some knowledge of NYC building codes, construction, engineering and interior design. Knowledge of facilities and construction operations, include any licenses.
