Progressive, fast paced multi-office firm in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area is seeking a self-motivated specifications writer to join the firm. The Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in evaluating and selecting building materials and methods.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects with multiple project teams.
  • Active member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) preferred.
  • CDT required, with CCS certification preferred.
  • Bachelors or Vocational degree in Architecture, or Construction Technology preferred.
  • Architectural registration preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Work Authorization Required.
  • Coordinate specifications of project teams including formatting, file assembly, and distribution.
  • Drawing review and interface with the project teams including terminology coordination.
  • Attend coordination meetings with project teams and clients as required.
  • Preparation of Division 00 and Division 01 documents for the Project Manual.
  • Prepare architectural specifications documents.
  • Coordination of consultant specifications for inclusion in the Project Manual.
  • Research materials and systems being considered for inclusion into the specifications.
  • Function as a technical resource to the project teams.
  • Consulting with project teams and providing assistance in resolving problems relating to use and installation of building materials and products arising during design and construction process
  • Prepare and coordinate specification revisions issued during bidding and construction.
  • Maintenance of company specification masters.

Job Responsibilities:
