Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated, self-starter who will be a key player in design & layout of all Century 21 Stores. You will be part of an intimate, yet impactful Construction Team creating outstanding stores and improving the Customer Experience. Our ideal candidate would 5-7 years of experience with a strong background in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management or related field.



Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Develops & formalizes design strategies for use in new and existing stores in accordance with established brand standards.

  • Creates design documentation to support design intent including schematic drawings & test-fits.

  • Coordinates with department heads to optimize store design, cost & functionality.

  • Capacity to designs stores within allocated budgets.

  • Manages the production of DD & CD packages by external consultants. Responsible for the integrity and quality of the construction documents inclusive of design intent, detailing, code/ADA requirements, scheduling and MEP.

  • Responsible for development/maintenance of the new store prototype & fixture book prototypes, inclusive of CAD/BIM standards though our consultants.

  • Generates visualization as required for internal coordination & design review

  • Manages the bidding & procurement of sales area fixtures, including shop drawing review & delivery

  • Visits stores as required to ascertain all field conditions that will affect the architectural design

Job Requirements:

  • Current knowledge of industry trends in retail stores including, lighting, merchandising, fixturing and finishes.

  • Ability to balance design, with operational needs and budget objectives.

  • Ability to execute multiple projects & prioritize under tight deadlines

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Skilled in the visual, written and verbal communication of design issues

  • Ability to translate stated design principles into constructible documents.

  • Knowledge of architectural details and specifications for construction document production

  • Strong multi-tasking abilities and organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Generate floor plan layouts, site studies and & test-fits using AutoCAD

  • Ability to review & comments on shop drawings.

  • Current working knowledge of building codes and accessibility compliance issues

  • Demonstrated 3D visualization ability and working knowledge of color and design principles

  • Strong problem-solving and decision making skills



Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management or related field

  • Experience working with or developing Retail Prototypes & Standards

  • Technical Skills Required: AutoCAD (5 yrs.), Photoshop (2 yrs.), and Sketch-up (2 yrs.)

  • Technical Skills Preferred: Revit, Hand Sketching, InDesign, 3DS Max

  • Project Management experience, preferred

  • Experience managing external architectural/engineering consultants, preferred
