SgRA Architecture is currently seeking a CAD Technician to join our team in our Philadelphia, PA office. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects for clients within the private sector. Typical projects involve surveying and site/civil design for residential and commercial site development, zoning analysis, as well as design and production of historical renovation and new construction for a variety of residential and commercial projects.

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.


  • Produce accurate drawings and revisions as directed by the project leader using AutoCAD (current edition);
  • Prepare plans, elevations, cross sections for planning feasibility studies, aerial photography, and other materials to identify critical project constraints
  • Work independently and communicate with project managers on design constraints, challenges, and project schedules
  • Meet established time and cost goals for each assigned task
  • Understand SgRA and client standards and ensure that work meets those standards


  • High School Diploma (degree in Architecture is preferred)
  • 1-3 years of AutoCAD experience within the field of architecture is required.
  • CAD certification from a technical school or equivalent CAD experience computer skills required: AutoCAD, Sketchup, Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Computer User Interface, Work Space, User Profiles and Customization, Tool Palettes, Civil 3D Styles, Design Center, points, survey objects, feature lines, grading objects, corridors, assemblies, sub-assemblies, alignments and profiles, sections, labels, and parcels
  • Experience in architectural design related work (i.e. survey base plan drafting, demolition/proposed plans, elevation and building section drafting)
  • Ability to teach and learn from other staff in a workplace setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated
  • Dependable, critical thinker who can adapt to change
