KPa+d is an award-winning San Francisco firm with a focus on
high-quality design and production in a mutually supportive environment.

We are looking for an advanced intern architect or recently licensed architect who seeks an unusual opportunity.   If you are looking for an environment where you can grow by working on various building types, where strong mentorship and a thoughtful approach to problem solving and high-quality design are key values, please keep reading!  Our office engages in a diversity of architectural and interiors projects, from high-end residential to public libraries and other civic and institutional work.  Sometimes we collaborate with larger firms to gain access to projects that most small offices never see.  Our work has been published in Library Journal, Architectural Digest, California Homes, Sunset Magazine, and the local newspapers.

Our success relies on everyone doing their best:  The successful candidate will be a well-educated and self-motivated architect who has worked for a minimum of 5 years in architecture since graduation from an accredited school of architecture.  Solid Revit experience is required, as is an excellent command of the English language.  Skill in Vectorworks, AutoCAD are a plus.

The candidate must possess legal work status in the US.  We will not sponsor a visa for this position.

The Job: The job will begin with an 8-week intensive project for a civic client; after that you will continue work on that project in addition to high-end single-family projects.  In our small office each individual has a variety of responsibilities and opportunities; your role will evolve according to your relative strengths. You will work closely with the Principal to provide design and presentation support in the early stages of a project and will organize and coordinate the construction documents under direction of the Principal in most cases; you will also have opportunities to personally manage selected projects.

Salary and benefits are competitive, and include support for licensing and LEED accreditation.
