J Frankl C Mallea Associates Architects & Engineers (JFA) is a contemporary design firm located in the penthouse floor of 16 Court Street in Downtown Brooklyn. JFA specializes in new construction of Commercial, Residential and Mixed-use buildings. We are currently seeking a full-time Interior Architect to join our team. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • The Interior Architect will be responsible for the interior design of projects including plans, details, sections, elevations, and overseeing project design under the direction of a Studio Director and Principal.
  • Experience in interior design and architectural projects, coordinating samples, mockups, and shop drawings.
  • Excellent drafting skills in AutoCAD and Revit including drafting interior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, millwork drawings, and finish details. In addition to comparing cost, durability, aesthetics, maintenance, and lead time across design solutions.
  • Excellent graphic skills, space planning, and furniture layouts.
  • Knowledgeable of codes and regulations including ADA, NYC Building Code, NYC Zoning, NYCECC, NYC Plumbing Code, NYC Mechanical Code, NYC Fire Code.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, ensuring project correspondence is documented, preparing meeting agendas and meeting minutes, and documenting project samples.
  • Experience with AIA Contracts and Project Schedules ensuring projects stay on schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Architecture or similar required.
  • 3-6 years interior architecture work experience.
  • Complex problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficient in CADD, Revit, InDesign, Photoshop, and 3D computer modeling software.
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment.
