Designer/Interior Architect Hospitality
As a designer/interior Architect you will be involved with high-quality, exclusive projects in Hotels, spas, and residences.  The position requires an Interior design background with strong and proven design abilities.  The role requires a dynamic and collaborative Design leader with experience in high profile, Hospitality design projects.   This position requires the designer to be hands on, proactive and own their area of responsibility.  The job requires the candidate to balance the creative with the practical; with realization of great design as the goal.  The position requires experience in leading projects creatively through collaboration with the design Principal.    

Responsibilities will primarily include (in addition to all other duties required to get a project completed and delivered):

  • Leading hospitality related FF&E/Interior Architectural design and production through all phases on various projects.

  • Collaborate with design Principal on concept and initiate completion of the concept through the design phases.

  • Collaboration with executive management to ensure appropriate staffing of project teams 

  • Assist Principal in the Management of client relationships from definition to project delivery.

  • FF&E (hospitality) Project budget estimation

  • Presentation and communication of the design to clients and large groups.

  • Communicate the design concept in writing.

  • Assist Principal in the creation of project schedules.

  • Assist Principal in Managing expectations on project lifecycle and deliverables and assure key dates are understood by the client and the internal team.

  • Manage and document design approvals with next steps.  Documentation through presentation notes, and visual attachment.  Ensure that clear communication and documentation to our clients of their approvals is maintained.

  • Coordination and Production of Presentation Materials in all design phases.  This includes planning, material/ furnishing selection and presentation.   Additionally, the senior designer will be responsible for the creation and/or the oversight of 2d and 3d visualization of the project, specification preparation and Autocad production.

  • Partner with the Design Principal to ensure client satisfaction as it relates to schedule, deliverables, budget, and most importantly project design expectations.

  • Partner and assist Design Principal in all aspects of space planning and interior architectural detailing within a given project.  Partner with the design Principal to assure that all FF&E and interior fixed décor are integrated and documented correctly.  Complete ownership and responsibility for high quality design realization is a must.

  • Collaborate with the Design Principal in the establishment of concept and the design development of the projects assigned.


  • 5 to 8+ years of post-graduate experience a minimum in hospitality related projects

  • BA/BS required in interior design, interior architecture or architecture. Masters preferred.

  • Demonstrated design talent and conceptual thinking, and demonstrated professional experience in hospitality design.

  • Outstanding presentation skills including verbal, written and illustrative. Must be articulate.

  • Ability to lead design team members

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

  • Professional portfolio of built work where one was actively involved in the design implementation of the project. 

  • Ability to work well with and direct others in a studio atmosphere

  • Advanced proficiency utilizing the following tools:

    • Pen and Paper – quick evocative hand sketching and moving written design descriptions.

    • Adobe Creative Suite, especially In-Design and Photoshop,

    • 3D Presentation techniques…..hand, Sketch Up, V-Ray Rhino or Max.

    • AutoCAD.  Must also be very familiar with hospitality FF&E specification writing.

    • MS Office Suite

  • Professional portfolio of built work where one was actively involved in the design implementation of the project. 

  • The ideal candidate will be a team oriented and an excellent communicator, (superb proficiency in written and spoken English is a must) self-motivated, and comfortable in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

  • You must already be eligible to work in the United States of America and preferably already located in the New York City area.

  • Down to earth, comfortable as yourself, must be collaborative, and confident in a team when expressing your ideas.
