Design Associate – Design:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self- motivated Design Associate to join the Freshii Team. A Freshii Design Associate is organized, detail-oriented, and looking to make an impact and a long-term commitment to grow with an rapidly growing company. You will work with the Director of Architectural Design on special projects that will require a creative and forward thinking approach to how we view the Freshii brand in 2017 and beyond.

What this role entails

-Developing, managing and maintaining project schedules for active restaurant projects in various stages of the development process and ensuring projects are delivered on-time and within budget.

-Maintaining and updating active project files which include logging in and filing of submittals, drawing submissions, construction budgets, etc.

-Supporting the Project Management and Design Teams in the RFP and planning process by coordinating vendor proposals, comparing vendor and contractor quotes, etc.

-Assisting in plan and specification analysis in order to provide clear, easily tracked and coordinated interpretations of the design / construction documents during construction.

-Assisting in the evaluation of potential in-field problems and issues and reporting those items to the Project Management and Design Teams to ensure prompt and comprehensive resolutions are reached.

-Understanding and performing document control functions, including tracking and answering of RFI's, logging in and tracking of project submittals, composing various agreement documents and maintaining project deliverable lists.

-Providing support to the Head of Project Management and the Director of Architectural Design with other various administrative tasks as required


-A degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Design (Architecture or Interior Design)

-One to three years of experience / or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience can also be considered.

-A strong eye for design and design details and the ability to assist in making design driven decisions that will literally impact future restaurant model developments

-Strong communication skills

-A comfort with problem solving and finding the answers to your questions resourceful

-The ability to plan, organize, and multitask with minimal supervision

-The ability to use online tools and technology to help you be effective and efficient within your role

-The ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects, people and deadlines at once.

-The ability to assist in monitoring construction progress, providing status reports while ensuring design partners and contractors meet safety and regulatory compliance on their respective project.

-An interest in expanding your knowledge of construction techniques, building materials, building and accessibility code compliance and equipment/access through hands on experience

-Having a 'no job is too big or too small' mentality

-The ability to support the Project Management Team and Design Team by helping to solve Construction / Design related issues in time sensitive situations

-Having working experience in Restaurant Design, Restaurant Construction and / or Restaurant Operations are a plus

Technical Qualifications:

-A working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software (Salesforce for example) is a plus

-Having a working knowledge of Architectural Drafting Software (ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)

-Having a working knowledge of Adobe Design Software (Illustrator, PhotoShop, InDesign etc.)

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

-Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian Building Codes / International Experience is a plus
