Are you interested in how buildings are really put together?  Do you want to make a bigger impact on saving energy?  The Facade Group in Philadelphia, PA is looking for intelligent and self-motivated candidates to join our team of dedicated professionals making buildings better for our clients every day.  An ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience preparing sets of construction documents and doing field observations for mid-sized to large commercial projects.   Knowledge of building science and technology is important.  Most important is a very strong attention to detail, an interest in construction, and the ability to communicate well with owners, architects and contractors.  Multi-tasking is essential as you will work on several projects over the course of a day.   

Salary is negotiable based on experience.  Our office environment is informal, perhaps offbeat, with a personal/work life balance.

Specific Responsibilities / Essential Functions for Sr. Level

  • Ability to relate the performance requirement so the project specification to field observations and prepare a report on the observed building enclosure construction and testing
  • Work closely with clients to achieve the team’s goals and objectives
  • Up to date with emerging technologies related to the building enclosure 
  • Act as singular point of contact for clients and as a liaison to project teams
  • Manage multiple projects from first contact through completion
  • Develop fee proposals and manage contract negotiations
  • Seek out potential projects and make contact with project teams to develop new business
  • Seek out new contacts within the field for networking
  • Use personal areas of expertise and the expertise of other staff to deliver elegant solutions to complex enclosure problems.
