Safdie Architects are seeking Architectural Project Administrators with excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment, to join their design practice.

 As a role designed to support the design teams, the Architectural Project Administrator will work directly with one or more Project Managers to manage and coordinate document control across a number of ongoing projects. Tasks will include:

  • Mining existing project folders to compile benchmark drawing sets and presentations for record-keeping and archiving;
  • Coordinating and compiling material samples, drawing sets, correspondence and presentations for ongoing projects;
  • Establishing protocols with our Chief Archivist for transmitting materials to the firm’s permanent archive at McGill University;
  • General project support (preparation of presentation drawings, etc.);

Candidates must be highly motivated, have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and possess a willingness to assume both project-wide and office-related responsibilities.

Headquartered in Somerville, MA with offices in Toronto, Jerusalem, Singapore and Shanghai to support ongoing projects, Safdie Architects is constantly engaged in the design of a diverse range of projects in terms of building type, scale and geographic location. Current work in design and construction includes the National Medal of Honor Museum in South Carolina; a residential tower in Manhattan; medical education and research facilities in Sao Paulo, Brazil; a hospital in Cartagena, Colombia; and mixed-use developments in Saudi Arabia, China and Singapore.

  • Prior experience working in an architectural or design practice is preferred;
  • Knowledge of graphic programs (Adobe Suite), Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Architectural design & documentation software is strongly preferable;
  • Design experience and ability to read architectural drawings
