Safdie Architects is seeking an Interior Project Administrator with excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment, to join their design practice.

 As a role designed to support the design team, the Interior Project Administrator will work directly with one or more designers to assist in the smooth running of the Interiors Design Studio.  To personally assist Safdie Architects interior designers in delivery of interior design projects to clients and manage/coordinate document control across a number of ongoing projects. Main duties will include:

  • Maintain an organized and tidy ID samples library.  Obtain and prepare product samples for reviews and file back once completed.
  • Manage vendors/suppliers and confirm orders. Oversee vendor/supplier production monitoring quality and co-ordinate delivery slots.
  • Receive deliveries to office and assist in their placement in the ID Studio.
  • Action Designer’s instructions and keep them informed of progress.
  • General project support (preparation of presentation drawings, etc.).
  • Mining existing project folders to compile benchmark drawing sets and presentations for record-keeping and archiving.
  • Establishing protocols with our Chief Archivist for transmitting materials to the firm’s permanent archive at McGill University.

Candidates must be highly motivated, have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and possess a willingness to assume both project-wide and office-related responsibilities.

  • Interested in Interior Design and willing to follow design directives.
  • Excellent organizational skills & good communicator.
  • You must be numerate with an attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of graphic programs (Adobe Suite), Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Architectural design & documentation software is strongly preferable.
  • Proficient in CAD.
  • Design experience and ability to read architectural drawings and take measurements.
