The project designer is responsible for initiating design concepts and leads design development for one or more large or complex projects in a manner consistent with YGH standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Defines program requirements and establishes design parameters based on client requirement; works with project architect and project manager
  • Creates and develops overall design concepts; formulates design presentation strategies and makes presentations
  • Manages design process for entire project; leads/directs the work of assistant designers and technical staff
  • Manages design team members during the implementation of design to ensure that clarity and quality of concept are maintained throughout the design process
  • Monitors project budget and schedule related to design team efforts
  • Manages client interaction and decision making related to design
  • May participate in business development activities


  • A graduate of an accredited Master or Bachelor or Architecture degree program.
  • 5+ years of experience in an architectural firm.
  • LEED AP beneficial.
  • Revit, Microsoft Office, In-Design, Illustrator, PhotoShop and SketchUp experience preferred.
  • Technical experience in development and detailing of higher education facilities and Occupancy
  • Technical understanding of building systems Type I, Type II, and Type III construction.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10% beneficial.
  • Bilingual beneficial.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills.
