John Milander Architects is a growing, full service architecture firm, specializing in high-end residential and resort Architecture (new builds and remodels), Construction Project Management, and Owner’s Representation. We are seeking a team member who shares our passion for well-designed, well-detailed projects, and who will strive to meet and exceed our standards for client support.

About the Position:

We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic architectural designer/draftsperson with 2-4 years of experience to join our full-time team. You will be working on projects in all stages of the design process, and should therefore be well versed in AutoCAD, SketchUp (V-Ray is a plus!), Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. You should be knowledgeable in the city plan check process and feel comfortable and confident interacting with consultants. This position requires excellent speaking and communication skills and the ability to work alongside other individuals as part of a team.

This position requires the following:

  • 2-4 years of work experience a similar position, including drafting and design presentation
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in the field of architecture is preferred
  • The ability to prepare architectural presentations, construction documents, and design concept studies
  • Excellence in AutoCAD 2D, along with an understanding of drafting standards
  • Proficiency modeling in SketchUp (and working knowledge of V-Ray rendering)
  • A solid understanding of the stages of design, documentation, and permitting
  • Construction site experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are imperative
