New York-based architecture and interior design office is seeking a full-time Intermediate Interior Designer with 3+ years of industry experience who is passionate about design and has the ability to wear many hats. Experience in all phases preferred, from concept development through construction documents to shop drawing reviews of millwork and custom furniture. Experience in sourcing furniture and materials, FF&E specifications and cordination with consultants desired as well.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a passion for design, a commitment to excellence, and the desire to work on a collaborative team. This 30-person studio has international expertise in high-end retail, hospitality, and residential projects - experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.


  • Work directly with design partner or principal interior designer to develop programming documents & space plans
  • Prepare documents during conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases
  • Source and specify FF&E
  • Develop comprehensive finish/ material palettes through research, selection, and specification


  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Must be a US citizen / green card holder / work visa
  • Ability to communicate, and present design concepts within the internal team, and to outside vendors
  • Current knowledge of materials, finishes, furnishings, and equipment; including industry standards for selection, procurement, and install management of such items
  • Working knowledge/general understanding of industry standards, construction methods, and technical systems at large
  • CAD proficiency (VectorWorks a plus), Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office required
  • Proficiency with and 3D Max/V-Ray desired
  • Talented, self-motivated designer with significant technical ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well in a team  
  • Highly developed communication skills, specifically with senior management, clients, and consultants
  • Highly organized with acute attention to detail
  • Construction Administration experience is a plus
  • Spexx is a plus
  • LEED accreditation is a plus
