Shannon Scott Design is seeking a passionate individual who is ready to contribute their talents and expertise to an intimate and constructive environment focused on cooperation and respect. We are a small group of hardworking, nuts and bolts design professionals, instilled with a sense of the sacred in design. The Project Manager position requires an experienced individual with a successful track record managing all phases of residential and hospitality/commercial interiors projects. The ideal candidate has very strong AutoCAD skills, is outgoing, a fast thinker, detail orientated, and meticulously organized. We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team setting, in our Santa Barbara design studio.


  • Interior Design construction document (CD's) packages - floor plans, RCP's, reference plans, elevations, detail sheets. AutoCAD based.
  • Assist Principal with design concepts and design development, including finishes, materials, equipment, lighting, and furnishings.
  • Manage all phases of projects, including project set-up, design, and construction administration.
  • Establish task schedules. Manage project schedule, budgets, specifications, construction documents, purchase orders, RFI's, and overall coordination with architects, contractors, vendors, and consultants. 
  • Create and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and project requirements, monitoring project progress to ensure the project team's compliance with all project milestones.
  • Manage and maintain communication between project team, client, consultants, and all authorities having jurisdiction over the project. 
  • Coordinate with Principal & Clients on budgets, proposals, procurement, and payments. 
  • Manage FF&E quoting / bidding / purchase order process.
  • Ensure project compliance with building code requirements and regulations.
  • Participate in contract proposals.
  • Some select travel may be required.


  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience, including demonstrated success as an interior design project manager on a range of residential and hospitality/commercial interiors projects, throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of strong AutoCAD skills required. Revit / 3D skills a plus.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and relationship management / people skills including the ability to demonstrate a cooperative attitude and effective written / verbal communication skills with project teams, clients, consultants, and vendors in a team environment.
  • Strong experience and ability to multi-task and accurately perform a variety of complicated tasks in a fast-paced environment, prioritize project work load and time-sensitive tasks, handling complex administrative tasks, multiple deadlines, and client communications in a project orientated business.
  • Good organizational skills with acute attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills.
  • Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on projects. 
  • Knowledge of ADA, Title 24, building codes, standards, and building structures. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Studio Designer software and PhotoShop experience a plus.
  • Professional certification or degree in Interior Design or Architecture (or similar) required. 
  • LEED Certification preferred.
  • Professional appearance and attitude mandatory.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes or packages up to 25 pounds.
