A Senior Designer has working knowledge at all facets of the work and is expert in architecture. On a daily basis the Senior Designer supports the Design Principal and will communicate with the client, consultants, senior staff, and junior staff with an efficient and clear style. The Senior Designer will contribute to the culture of the studio with design references, technical resources, and leadership. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects. 

Contributes to the preparation of the contract documents including coordination of FF&E elements with the internal interiors team. 

Prepares strategic plans for project success. 

Serves as primary contact with clients to bring projects to completion on schedule, on budget, on design, and with maximum client satisfaction. 

Actively manages schedules, project communications and documentation, studio administrative tasks, and project team assignments. 

Responsible for ensuring communications are recorded, sent as minutes, and followed-through on in a way that is clear and predicable to the whole project team. 

Initiates and creates project designs and plans of all phases of one or more projects and has responsibility for preparing presentation and design drawings. 

Lead design teams in areas of architectural design, construction phase administration including vendor and contractor communication, project coordination, and project schedules. 

Local and international travel for project meetings. 

Coordinate with consultants and agencies related to building design including agency review and permitting. 

Estimates hours for each phase and prepares estimates. 

Understands the scope of work and reviews proposals and contracts during the project to ensure the contract obligations are met by all parties. 

Technical detailing expertise. 

Working understanding of products and methods of all involved disciplines. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

8 years of professional experience demonstrating excellence in design and implementation. 

Completed multiple hospitality projects from beginning to end. 

Bachelor’s degree. 

Proficient in the software used to create design and contract documents within the Senior Designer’s discipline such as AutoCAD, Gantt chart and scheduling software, and internal file management.
