Our Philadelphia office is actively seeking an experienced Plumbing/FP Designer to participate in many phases of projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential functions:

  • Manage design tasks assigned; ensure quality of work in developing construction documents.
  • Participate where requested in client interface and meetings.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines within the MEP team for coordination, as well as the other disciplines and studios in the firm.
  • Work within established budgets and manage production loads.

Engineering tasks (with varying responsibilities dependent upon project magnitude and experience) include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Design drafting of construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Storm, sanitary, grease waste, drainage and venting systems design and layout
  • Domestic hot and cold water design, layout and equipment selection
  • Gas piping design and layout
  • Preparation of medical gas distribution systems
  • Riser diagrams
  • Study and apply applicable codes
  • Utility interface and load letters
  • Site coordination
  • Sprinkler head layouts 
  • Fire Protection design – hydraulic calculations and piping design

Qualifications:

  • Strong Revit and AutoCAD skills and knowledge of software
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as production related software and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all parties involved in the design and development process.
  • Detail oriented and thoroughness in accomplishing tasks.
  • 1 years industry experience with a BS Engineering with a strong knowledge of design and engineering practices; OR 3 years industry experience
  • Familiar with applicable codes and general engineering practices.
