Billy Cotton is a versatile multi-disciplinary design firm looking for an Architectural Designer to help build and manage the architectural and interior design part of the practice. 

This is an opportunity for a highly-motivated and self-reliant individual to start with a high degree of responsibility and freedom. He or she will be expected to hit the ground running, beginning to manage jobs and teams on day one. A truly unique & exciting opportunity for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Run interior design projects from start to finish
  • Work closely with senior designers on projects
  • Oversee junior designer work on projects and on a day-to-day basis (even when they are not on your projects)
  • Responsible for the architectural design and construction work on assigned projects
  • Execute on the design/vision created by Billy Cotton
  • Take direction from and work closely with senior architect consultants

Experience:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following experiences:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Five years professional experience in architectural firm
  • Creation of total project documentation, including conceptual design
  • Compilation of bidding packages and construction documentation
  • Presenting designs and visions to clients and potential clients

Skills:

  • Excellence in compiling bidding packages and construction documentation for high end residential projects
  • Excellence in millwork & fixturing detailing and documentation
  • Proficiency in consultant documentation review and implementation
  • Proficiency in on-site running of the job and all aspects of construction administration
  • Excellence in AutoCad
  • Proficiency in SketchUp
  • Basic knowledge of current building codes including ADA requirements

  • Team leadership and supervision of junior staff
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple deadlines without hesitation
  • Excellent presentation skills and strong communicator
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work well with colleagues, clients, vendors, and construction managers
  • Comfortable with a “train as you go” approach to learning the job
