OCV Architects is looking to enhance their environmental department by hiring a Sustainability Coordinator to join the team. OCV has always put an emphasis on sustainable and healthy building systems and practices. OCV is a NYSERDA Multifamily Performance Partner, a Technical Advisor for Enterprise Green Communities, and a member of the US Green Building Council.

OCV is seeking a qualified professional with a minimum of three years’ experience to provide sustainability coordination on supportive multifamily construction projects. The job requires an engineering mindset with an interest in sustainable design. The primary responsibility will be to document compliance with Green Communities and the NYSERDA New Construction Program, as well as city and state energy codes. Program documentation includes energy modeling in eQuest and completing the required submittals for each program – pre and post construction, including testing and verification.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform energy modeling using eQuest for Green Communities / NYSERDA compliance
  • Create COMcheck, REScheck, and Tabular Analyses for compliance with New York City and State energy codes and ASHRAE 90.1
  • Coordinate the Green Communities / NYSERDA/Passive House documentation process as well as project specifications, calculations, plans, and submittal review
  • Coordinate with in-house team members including project managers and inspectors
  • Coordinate with design team consultants including MEP and civil engineers
  • Conduct research related to energy code updates, green program requirements, and sustainable products and materials
  • Perform on site testing and verification in compliance with Energy Star protocols

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have BA in Architecture or Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Science
  • Three years experience working in sustainable design
  • Experience working in eQuest
  • Familiarity working in AutoCAD, Revit, and AGI Lighting Analysis preferred
  • Familiarity with New York City and State energy codes, as well as ASHRAE
  • Experience with indoor air quality testing, construction management, or environmental site assessments preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management, organizational & research skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as closely with staff on multiple project teams
  • LEED AP BD+C and Certified Passive House Consultants are a plus
