JOB DESCRIPTION:

SHED is looking for a talented and motivated architect. In this position, you will be working closely with firm principals on projects from Pre-Design through Contract Administration. We are looking for candidates that have proven their ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small office environment. You will be responsible for: 

  • Production of digital models and renderings
  • Permit and construction documents
  • Feasability studies, research and presentation packages

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong candidates will:
  • hold a Masters of Architecture degree from an accredited university
  • have 1 – 2 years post-grad experience or an academic portfolio showing a high level of design and production skill
  • be devoted to architecture and the process of design
  • be able to prepare tight permit and construction sets with minimal supervision
  • have a solid understanding of construction assemblies, material properties, etc
  • be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively verbally, graphically and in writing
  • demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • share an interest in and knowledge of sustainable building practices including LEED and Passive House standards
  • be skilled at researching and resolving technical issues
  • be proficient in ArchiCad, AutoCad and/or Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, V-Ray
