Design / build company specialized in the production of high-end window displays for international fashion brands, seeks to hire a very bright individual as a Drafter, to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have positive, helpful attitude, good judgment, and problem solving skills. Must be able to work under pressure and deadlines, while staying calm and focused.


  • Bachelor's degree in industrial design / architecture 
  • Knowledge of and interest in art / fashion / design / architecture 
  • Expert level proficiency in Rhino or SolidWorks
  • High level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite 
  • AutoCAD experience would be a plus
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office suite, especially Excel 
  • Understanding of shop and build techniques, and ability to distill information into clear drawings 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Highly organized and efficient work style 
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across several teams / departments 
  • Self-starter; ability to work very independently, but also fit into a strong team environment 
  • Strong work ethic with an ability to manage workload, while efficiently and effectively prioritizing responsibilities to meet deadlines and deliver results


  • Create 3-D models, drawings, and when necessary renders, of all projects headed for production 
  • Receive direction / feedback from clients, through Account Managers, to create and revise drawings to reflect client needs 
  • Create shop drawings, with input from Production Management team and Lead Fabricator, that are descriptive and clear, and can be used on the shop floor to build from 
  • Collaborate with the Lead Fabricator, to engineer, prototype, and test parts for projects, before committing to larger production runs 
  • Program parts and cut-lists for CNC milling and other automated tools 
  • Communicate with the Machining Department Head, to ensure that programming for the CNC is using best practices, and help troubleshoot any problems arising from CAD/CAM-to-Machine interfacing 
  • Creating files and programming for various other tools and processes, including for outside vendors in print, laser cutting, waterjet cutting, 3D printing, etc. 
  • Communicate directly with clients and vendors about technical details related to the drawings or files provided 
  • Help create and populate supplementary organizational information: install directives, packing lists, parts lists, paint order forms, material use estimates, etc., based on the project overview that drafting allows 
  • Create and maintain standard layout drawings of spaces we work in often 
  • Go on site surveys when working in new spaces, to assist in taking accurate measurements, to make layouts based on measurements taken
