Senior PR Strategist

MAD is a Beijing-based design collaboration dedicated to innovation in architectural practice, landscape design and urban planning. MAD is looking for 1 Senior PR Strategist in our Beijing office:  

Senior PR strategist works together with principal partners on making strategy and planning for MAD Architects communication plan, lead the team and break down to objectives, actions, then deliver results in these following fields: media relation, press releases, publication, exhibition and other external collaboration. It also includes management of current MAD social media or any online media channel.

Applicants must demonstrate the following qualities:

  1. Architecture major is preferred, or a minimum of four years’ experience in Press/Communication in major international architecture firms or a relevant profession with professional experience in art promotion will be preferred;
  2. Strong background and experiences in PR/Communications/Marketing or a relevant design profession with professional experience in communications;
  3. Fluent English and, spoken and written, native speaker preferred. With experience working/studying internationally;
  4. Confident, professional attitude with strong verbal and written communication skills, great networking skills and also appropriate self-presentation. (familiarity with publication production or graphic design would be an advantage);
  5. Solid written and verbal communication skills as well as grammatical proofing and editing abilities (familiarity with publication production or graphic design would be an advantage);
  6. A positive attitude towards obstacles and tight deadlines, out-going, strong communicator and able to take priorities and handle multi-tasks when he/she is required to do so;
  7. Of course, can fluently operate and work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Mail/Outlook (knowledge of the Adobe Suite and database management is desirable). 

Main job tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Writing press releases/project descriptions, responding to journalist requests, arranging interviews, maintaining the media/press coverage archive and contact database;
  2. Strengthening the company’s use of social media and managing website and newsletter updates;
  3. Pro-actively building the company’s profile and network, eg. through the production of publications, and submissions for awards and competitions;
  4. Coordinating participation in international lectures, exhibitions and events, including managing the agenda and travel arrangements of the busy company director.
