Omgivning strengthens urban communities through architecture and interior design, emphasizing the adaptive reuse and revitalization of existing buildings in Los Angeles. We align the client's goals with the neighborhood’s history, aesthetics, current uses and growth patterns, as well as the building’s particular history, nuances, challenges and opportunities. Omgivning combines this understanding of place with our substantial experience of City requirements and regulations to create spaces that succeed for the client, the user and the community. Since its 2009 inception, Omgivning has established itself as a recognized firm in the Architecture and Interior Design culture of Downtown Los Angeles, providing services on over 250 buildings ranging from 950 square foot cafes to two-million square foot historic landmark adaptive reuse projects. The firm's breadth of completed work includes adaptive reuse multi-family housing, hotels, creative office, neighborhood restaurants and bars, historic theaters and furniture design.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual whose interests and passions lie in rejuvenating, restoring and rebuilding DTLA.


  • An architectural degree with 2+ years experience in an architectural design office
  • Bachelor's in Architecture or Interior Design
  • Proficiency in Revit is required (minimum of 6 months in office application)
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suites, handsketches and computer renderings is a plus
  • Experience in both existing and new construction a plus


  • Support the Project Manager and Job Captain in development of the design and detailing from Schematic Phase through Construction
  • Contribute to the production, organization, coordination, thoroughness, and accuracy of the 3D BIM model and all documents in the drawing set
  • Contribute design ideas and follow through of design intent
  • Work with the project team to produce presentation materials for client and agency presentations
  • Responsible for all work produced according to office standards, red line pick up prior to milestone, printing and self review of all work
  • Periodic site visits to assess quality of documents and construction

Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a benefit package with Health insurance coverage. Dental and Vision optional.
