We are award winning, vibrant and design-led practice dedicated to the high quality and innovative design. We are based in East London and have grown steadily over the past eight years to a team of 12.

With a steadily increasing scale of projects, we are now looking to add two further team members to our practice until the end of 2017. Those members can expect to be involved in interesting residential and office projects from inception through to completion, being involved across all RIBA stages on a daily basis. Across residential, commercial, mixed-use, public and office projects, we create value through intelligent design that delivers buildings and spaces where people enjoy living and working.

Duties & responsibilities 

The practice has as growing workload of projects across the UK. The ideal candidate would be someone who is keen to progress their career and take on a high level of responsibility on the day-to-day delivery of one or more of these projects, reporting to a director.

The candidate will have exposure to all RIBA stages and will be dealing with clients, suppliers, statutory bodies and contractors. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a strong experience of all RIBA Stages (including contract administration responsibilities), UK building regulations, specification writing, client and consultant liaison.

All applicants must have an enthusiastic, proactive attitude and be able to work either in a team or independently.

Project delivery includes:

  • experience in residential, commercial and office projects
  • concept and detail design work
  • production of presentation material
  • technical development of projects
  • delivery of production information
  • production of report, drawings, schedules and specification
  • submission of planning applications including writing design and access statement
  • submission of building regulation application including coordination of technical material
  • site co-ordination

Project management duties include:

  • report to the project leader/director on progress of projects and project risks
  • coordination of work produced by project team including consultants
  • liaise with the client, consultants, local planning authorities, and other statutory bodies and committees
  • prepare agenda and minutes for project meetings

Personal specification

Basic requirements:

  • minimum three years post Part-II UK based professional experience
  • personable, sociable and a positive member of the team
  • a desire to develop themselves professionally with ownership of projects
  • have excellent design skills and experience in residential and commercial projects
  • comfortable with a client facing role and present their projects confidently
  • work across teams and assist others on their projects and offer opinion
  • arrange relevant CPD’s and suggest technical engagement for the team
  • office management tasks shared by all team members in the office

IT and other competencies:

  • good command of Revit
  • good command of office systems including word, excel, etc
  • good presentation skills including photoshop, in-design, etc
  • an excellent command of English, both written and spoken

Professional practice skills:

  • good understanding of an architect’s duty as set out in the RIBA’s job book
  • excellent design skills, with the ability to explore and present thoughtful options for review and development
  • undertake technical research relevant to projects and Good problem solving skills
  • good detailing skills, with building technologies, materials and how they are assembled
