POSITION OVERVIEW

Provides oversight of all pre-sale design and engineering services associated with the design, fabrication, and installation of building envelope systems.  Provides leadership and creative design solutions in the collaborative setting of the bid proposal team. Develops the direction of the Studio identity, and standards for clarity in communication and presentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains the safety of the general public while providing engineering solutions that optimize profits for Enclos Corp.
  • The duties of this position include leadership in coordinating, scheduling and resource management for proposals and project design developments.
  • The Associate Director is also entrusted with overseeing the work of designers, design engineers and associated staff assisting in the sales process.
  • Works directly with the Vice President to steer the direction of the Studio initiatives, and build a creative and innovative culture that attracts and retains the industry’s top talent.
  • Identifies coordinates and assigns proposal tier classifications for all pre-sale efforts in conjunction with the Preconstruction Managers.
  • Develops quality standards for all pre-sale proposal documentation.
  • Develop and deliver AIA/CES courses to architectural firms on the most pertinent topics related to the intersection of architectural design and façade delivery.
  • Conforms to Enclos’ engineering standards and policy regarding design philosophy, the method of preparation and systems of checking.  Provides input regarding possible improvement to these standards and policies.
  • Perform concept development to support innovative designs to optimize solutions and address complex geometry.
  • Maintain an awareness of codes and standards evolution.
  • Prepare, participate and lead sales presentations.
  • Publish trade papers and write sales proposals narratives.
  • Teach and transfer advanced technologies to Enclos personnel.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced degree, such as Masters, in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture or related field.
  • Licensure as an Engineer or Architect preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in building enclosure design.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead others.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs with multiple design teams with multiple people.
  • Ability to delegate work and manage the changing workload.
  • Ability to advance the knowledge of Enclos Corp personnel in the Studio, Production, and Operations.
  • Ability to advance the public perception of Enclos Corp.
  • Ability to communicate written and verbally at the highest level.
  • Proficiency in the English language required.  Ability to write reports and correspondence.  Ability to conduct research and produce technical papers for publication.
