Responsibilities – Drafts plans, sections elevations, details and diagrams as necessary. Must meet deadlines set by Project manager. Coordinates various products, samples, and details with design intent; interprets design intent with Carvart products. Compares and coordinates drawing items with estimate/proposal to ensure the project stays at or under budget, if he/she sees discrepancies it is their responsibility to notify the Project manager and/or estimator/sales rep. or director. If asked to do so, engineer can contact suppliers/vendors to request details if not available. Engineer is expected to manage his/her time and complete drawings within estimated times and given deadlines. If more time is needed, drafter must notify the Project manager well before the deadline. Engineer must proactively coordinate schedule and budget based on drawings and details. They are responsible for drawing conformance with the architectural contract documents. Engineer must manage his/her time with multiple projects, if they are not able to meet a deadline, they must notify the Project manager well before the submittal date. Engineer is expected to manage new details if working with new vendor/system (block management, saves in designated files/folders). They must utilize AutoCAD standards and layers provided by Carvart and discusses design intent with the Project manager and other Carvart employees. They must contribute and add to PM spreadsheet as agreed with the Project manager.

The engineer is the overall synthesizer of the project. They are responsible for knowing all details and ensuring the current files are up to date in the job folder and that current architectural drawings and details are saved in the proper folders for all to reference. They are responsible for diligently filing and keeping the digital files organized. They are responsible for release and fabrication packages as outlined in the release procedures. All fabrications documents are to be check by the PM (primary checker), President or Director. All fab. drawings to be released and checked should include current/relevant (please do not print the entire set) architectural drawings, approved shop drawings, fabrication sketches, excel spreadsheet of release, all approved sample returns associated with that release.
