PDA is an architecture office in the Venice/Mar Vista area of West LA.  We do residential, retail, and commercial work, dedicated to ambitious design with carefully considered detailing. Our work is informed by an acute consciousness of spacial quality and visual/material texture as it impacts day-to-day living.

Position now open: junior project manager/architectural associate (formerly "intern architect") with 3+ years experience in all phases of custom residential and commercial work at US offices.  

PDA creates working drawings with Vectorworks or Autocad software on Mac platform, but we are transitioning to Autocad for new projects.

Position requires: 

  • Some project management experience and aptitude
  • Ability to contribute to the assembly of filing, pricing, and CD sets with some guidance as to office standards for basic formatting and necessary contents.  Familiarity with relevant local codes
  • Excellent english written and oral communication skills, as well as strong organizational abilities
  • Excellent client/contractor/consultant relations ability
  • Some field experience conducting construction administration (ideal but not required)
  • Facility with Adobe Suite, Sketchup, Rhino, and/or other Mac-platform rendering software 
  • Applicants must have a professional degree (BArch or MArch) from a credentialed US academic institution.  We encourage licensure-track applicants.

  • This position will feature drawing/drafting and collaboration with other project team members in creating drawings sets
  • We value your strong design skills and appreciate hand-sketching abilities.

PDA's work includes modern single-family residential projects, commercial/office work, adaptive re-use, and contextually sensitive renovations.  Some degree of insight, experience, and enthusiasm for appropriate detailing (in modern and contextual modes) is desired in a successful applicant.

Must have US work visa and be a Southern California resident (or be planning immediate relocation).
