After four-year undergraduate architecture education in the Ohio State University and three year graduate architecture education in UCLA, learning basic design principles, architectural history and theory, I have enlarged my understanding of the discipline. Instead of viewing good architectural projects as isolated objects of pure form-making and space -generating processes, I’ve come to believe that a good architectural project is an art of solving problems and improving life quality. There is no style for buildings, but rather a style for human life. Despite ideas about ideological performance, architecture lies in the concrete form of crafting by deliberate design and by carefully articulated details. As prerequisite to be a qualified architectural designer is to be able to apply intelligence and creativity from a unique perspective of view within the project constrains. The process of balancing the perspective perceived by designer as an individual and the need of clients, society and economy as constraints is challenging, though exciting in the way to attract me to dig deeper in this field. I want to establish myself as an designer, work among talented people to practice my skills and broad my view.
