About

I have roughly 8 years of experience in the interior design industry and am an NCIDQ-certified, IIDA member. My experience includes the following types of architecture projects: aviation, civic, education, spiritual and workplace. I have assisted project teams with interior design efforts during all phases of the design process; Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation and Construction Administration. I have collaborated internally with architects, interior designers and structural engineers both in a local office as well as offices across the nation. I have assisted and directed the various efforts of documentation, client presentations, interior finish selection, lighting selection, FF&E specifications, coordination of interior-directed changes with consultants and coordination of interior divisions with specification writers as well writing all interior related specification sections.

Hollis + Miller Architects, Kansas City, Interiors

I collaborated both internally with our architects, interior designers and structural engineers as well as co-creating with our clients and consultants to help create unique and inspiring learning environments. At HMA, I worked on project teams to serve Public, Private, and Charter school clients as well as the occasional Workplace design opportunity. I typically became involved with projects during Schematic design, assisting the project team with programmatic exercises and working closely with our client to understand their vision. Depending upon the project team, I assisted or led interior design efforts from Schematic Design into Design Development. I continued to develop details and complete all drawings during Construction Documentation. Additionally, I was responsible for all interior finish selection, lighting selection, coordination of interior divisions with specification writers and Construction Administration of all associated projects.

Dimensional Innovations, Overland Park, KS, Designer

This role was an exciting introduction to Design Build team strategy as it was our primary method of delivery at DI.
