Repeat clients asked us to restore and rethink their new home, an architecturally significant mid century estate in the hills overlooking Mount Diablo. In the first of a multi-phase commission, the clients sought a clean, simple, and warm look and feel for their kitchen, rather than the typical mid-century aesthetic.   We referenced Northern Europe for the warm oiled oak flooring, concrete worksurfaces and unglazed ceramic tile.  The island, crafted in solid oak, is inspired by Pierre Jeanneret’s furniture designed for the Chandigarh Secretariat by Le Corbusier.
