in at CED for the summer institute, but who that applied isn't?
8 week program
4350 (3900 + 450) tuition/enrollment fee
1000 for two month sublet nearby (if you're lucky)
+ airfare if you're not in Northern Cal already
+ living expenses
Last year there were 80+ attendees.
Wow. Cal is making some $$$ this summer
For me, the program makes a lot of sense. Berks is my #1 choice for mArch, and I'm going in with only a BA Linguistics and experience w/ ethnography of indigenous architecture.
I've decided to take a an urban design studio @ UNC Chapel Hill this Fall instead of paying 5 grand for the berkeley program... I wish I could afford to do it. Good luck all and post your impressions of the program if you have the time!
Hey everyone, I'll be there, but alas, I've forgotten my bSpace info and can't access the supplies list to know what to bring on Monday. Can anyone post what I'll need to bring?
when the program starts next week, will one of you please note the names of the instructors? i'm curious to see who will be teaching the studios this year... thanks!

That doesn't mean I can afford it!
Anyone else considering this program?
i will be there...it is pretty expensive (especially for int'l students) but i think it will be a great experience.
I'm going and I'm pumped!
What are y'all doing for housing?
I found a backyard shed for 200/mo...
haha! That's amazing...and probably uncomfortable. I'm lucky and have a pace to stay rent-free, otherwise I'd never be able to afford it!
Same here - luckily I have family nearby to stay with...
I am really excited and glad i am not the only one exploring "creative" ways to afford this. see you all soon enough!
