M.Arch in NYC? Thoughts? Opinions?

andrespanda

Has anyone attended or is attending an M.Arch I in New York?

What are your experiences of Pratt? Parsons? Columbia?

Don't want to start of a comparison please... all the schools are great... just want to know the impressions of people studying in them...

What kind of opportunities are there for sustainable design? Urban Planning? Materials/structure and construction technology exploration?

What would you say is the main focus of the program?

What are the strengths and weaknesses?

Any cool program or course I should keep my eye into?

How's the campus? Life around? NYC? BROOKLYN?

Anything exciting that I should know?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!

BEST
Andres

I was just accepted to Pratt and have visited it a few times. I also applied to parsons and was accepted but decided to go to pratt.

It seems like a great place, very artsy which is nice for me. They deal a lot with digital experimental architecture.

That particular part of Brooklyn is pleasant and moderately safe for new york. There are a lot of bars around and seems to be a strong creative community surrounding the school.
