Sci_Arc Fridays at 5
I'll be visiting Sci_Arc in order to get a feel for my future home (look for a place), see the school (couldn't do it before) etc. I will be meeting a friend that now lives in LA and figured that it would be nice if we went when the infamous "Fridays at 5" was taken place - Does it still take place? Are these things planned weeks in advance. Can anyone email a schedule my way? I don't drink, but would like to see the architects let their hair down.
make sure you visit skid row. nice little storks exists there like Roarks.
roark moved years ago. i used to work on boyd, same street roark was on, but now they're over by trade tech. its a larger space and great store for arch supplies.
There is no Fridays' at 5 anymore.
Studios don't end till 7 and some instructors were not happy with students leaving the studios.
So they moved it back to 7. It's Fridays' at 7 now.
It's the same thing anyways, except you have to wait 2 extra hours for drinks.
And yes, it happens every Friday.

Are you guys going to SCI-Arc? Anyone looking for housing? I'm trying to figure out where to live near the school. I have a car, but if I didn't HAVE to use it each day, I wouldn't mind it. Anyone know anything?
IchweiB, I'm with you. I'm in the process of looking for housing now - if I go to Sci-Arc. What program are you entering? Any luck on the housing thus far? The best that I've come across is a studio that is 15 minutes from Sci-Arc for 800 per... ouch.
I'm doing the SCIFI program: MDesR...yeah I am finding one bedrooms in silverlake and echo park for around 900...damn!
