Does your school charge you for laser cutting / cnc milling?

cpnorris

I just wanted to do a simple survey to see if your school charges you for laser cutting, cnc milling, 3D printing, or paper printing and to know how much they charge. Also if they don't charge I'd like to know that as well.

Texas Tech has laser cutters and a print shop which all students are charged for. The pricing on this is quite reasonable though, and not meant to be a money maker in any way.

I forgot to mention the cnc mill is being set up, but I am unsure if it will be accessible outside of the digital design and fabrication courses to start things out. I think it will be ready to go before the end of this semester.

To date there are no 3d printers, though I have talked with the head of the print lab, and he has an interest in getting at least one in the near future.

I think there was a forum about this setup not too long ago, you might want to check that out. I'm not saying this as one of those people who berates others for posting potentially redundant discussions (since those people really piss me off), I'm just saying it because there's a bunch of info on that discussion already that is relevant which you might want to check out
