I'm currently an undergrad from UT at Austin, and thinking about applying to IAUS for summer. I know it used to be the place to go and was the real deal and an independent "think tank" of architecture. But not sure about the current program there. Just got a few questions about IAUS if anyone dont mind helping me out ...
How hard is it to get in?
How's the reputation of the current IAUS program? How would you rate it?
How much credit in the field is given to those attended the current IAUS program?
Anyone ever applied or heard stories about the current programs of the Institute?
Dynamics of interaction between faculty and students?
Dynamics of student body?
I know the original IAUS dissolved around 1984 but was re-introduced as a reincarnated program in 2003. The new IAUS goes by Institute now and they have a website: www.institute-ny.org
The current IAUS reputation is hard to gauge since it seems to be keeping a low profile as of right now. I knew someone who went through the program and really enjoyed it because of the amount of individual attention she received for her project.

I can ask her if you want.
I know that this is a long dead discussion, but I am also interested in learning more about the institute.
