thats should be fine right?

but it seems that some of you have received an additional email a week ago?

praxis, the status page you're talking about is through the online application system (the same as princeton's). The one atty is talking about is a separate "Application Status" page through MIT's School of Arch. You should've received an email weeks ago with a link to this page. I feel like I was able to get to that status page before I got this email, so dig around a bit.

Atty, cool, when did Yale contact you about that? Just trying to get a rough idea on the stage of the game.

People have received decisions from three schools I applied to, and I have none...this is killing me slowly.

I just got home and there was good news from UIC waiting in the mailbox!

So, for anyone waiting on UBC, I just got my MLA ACCEPTANCE (!!!) letter via email today. Far earlier than I had anticipated. Just waiting on the M.Arch as well as M.Arch and MLA at U of T. But I know I'm going somewhere in the fall at least, and UBC is my preference.

Needless to say, it's a very good day, and it never would've happened without archinect. Anyone else get into UBC SALA yet?

ive been checking my yale app. status this past wk, my recommendation letters are all still pending although they were all sent early in december ("still awaiting: reference.."). i sent a coupla e-mails to the admissions office but no reply. anyone else in the same situation? is it normal that theyre still processing the application material for each student or should i give them a call?

i can't believe it's almost march already! and i thought i'd need distractions..

Zoon I would give them a call. Mine were updated as being received right when they got them...in early december.

Zoon, a lot of the status things can't be trusted; I would probably call just to be sure.

zoon, I have a similar situation here. All schools except Yale have received my GRE score report. I sent an email to the admissions office, and was told that they were inputting the information received for all students progressively. That was in january. And she said that I should not be too worried about it since the school will contact the applicant if they really need to. My guess is that the admissions office is overwhelmed by the huge no.of apps this year and they are putting everything aside (including replying to emails !!!) to focus on getting the results out in March. If calling them does help to take some stress in the build-up to the announcement, i'd suggest that you buzz them right away. It's always good to have less thing to worry about :)

btw congrats to those who have been accepted ! It's a liberating feeling to know that your hard work has paid off, finally !

just wrote an email to ut austin asking for a ballpark for when decisions would be sent out for MLA I, they told me late march and that i could check my application page online. It told me i was accepted but i have a feeling this might be a cruel cruel typo in that is it a full month early...we shall see....

any other MLAs out there hearing anything?

Hi All!

I got my first acceptance via email on Monday.

The email stated that "your complete acceptance package has been mailed to you" the letter further indicates the "if you have requested financial aid that information will come directly from your admitting department"

I got a physical copy of the acceptance letter from the Graduate School on Wednesday. The mailed letter was in a regular envelope, so I totally would have thought it was a rejection letter if I didn't previously get an email.

A complete acceptance package doesn't consist of just a letter and a checklist would it? Do you all think I should expect a larger package from the Arch Grad Department ? What do you guys think?

I don't want to be that annoying impatient person that calls instead of just giving the mail a chance to get here. We are buried under 1 ft of snow so its possible mail is a little slow. I'm so excited about being accepted just don't want to get too excited until I know my financial aid information.

Yeah I'm fighting the temptation to write an email asking about financial aid packages. I really want to visit campus but I know there will probably be a accepted student day. All the information I need will probably get to me, I just want it now :)

Sorell--Thanks! I'm debating going to the open house. Because I was there for a month in the summer, I feel solidly enthusiastic about the department. But then again, I'd be looking at it through different eyes, and it would be cool to meet future classmates. Are you going to go?

Did anyone else get fooled yesterday by Syracuse? It seemed early for them to be mailing decisions, but there it was, a beautiful hefty envelope!

"Dear M Arch I Applicant,
We have received your application and portfolio for the Syracuse Architecture Graduate Program. Enclosed please find some of the materials produced by the program including our prospectus.." blah blah blah.

I guess it's good that it wasn't a rejection, but not exactly what I've been waiting for.

I also applied to Clemson (Arch + Health concentration) and Ohio State.

yeah i got fooled as well. Complete fake out. I thought it was a little early for a decisions as well but I was optimistic. Should've known though cause the dealine wasn't till the 1st anyway.

yeah it was a little cruel at first but I do think that it is kind of nice and I am glad they sent me the extra info. Thats the only stuff I recieved through the mail from any of the 7 schools I've applied to.

Granted it was nothing about the program I couldn't have found online, but it is was nice to have some physical material.

And actually looking through the stuff and some of the student works it may have bumped them up on my list a few spots, assuming I get in of course.

@ Atty, ladandan & Pythagoras thanks i actually calmed down after reading ur replies. didn't bother call for some reason but i just checked my status and the three recs were received all at the same time, i guess they are still processing the piles of application material. i wonder if they've actually started reviewing or not yet..

Got into UIC. after seeing the small envelope in the mailbox, i was expecting a reject, but was pleasantly surprised when i opened it.

Accepted to UIC. It's pretty relieving to know that I got in to at least one place.

Congrats to all those accepted at UIC! Was wondering if you received notification through email or by mail. I am in Kuwait at the moment and also waiting for a reply from UIC. We have no reliable mailing system here so going a bit crazy.

I graduated with a B.Arch so I have applied to M.Arch II programs. I've heard it's really competitive to get into these programs because of the few spots available. I think UT has 14 people in their post-prof program. Anyways, I am really nervous because I only applied to 4 schools and they all seem like reach schools. I will be so happy if I can get into one of the schools. My biggest fear is getting rejected across the board. I haven't heard from anyone yet and I think I am slowly going crazy. I know a lot of you feel the same way. I just hope I hear something soon.

soni im exactly in the same boat as u are. applied to 4.5 schools (sent app to the last school 2wks after deadline!) which all seem a bit out of reach now that i have time to dwell on things. keeping my fingers crossed for just one school- any school! nonetheless i think the few spots do correspond to the fewer number of MArch ll applicants that apply as opposed to MArch l, at least this is what ive seen here. actually ive no idea, i dont follow statistics, but i hope im right. :) good luck

Two whole days when I don't receive any acceptance/waitlist/rejection emails, phone calls or (here in canada) postal mail.

Ugh. And I am also in same boat where now I'm afraid I won't get in anywhere and people are already getting into schools I applied to and...

wow, so many acceptances coming! where are the rejectees? (maybe they don't feel like talking about it...)

anyone expecting to get rejected by every school they applied to? and if that happens what are your back-up plans (if any)?

It's a bit early for rejections. Those seem to go out later, after they go through the first round of acceptances / waitlisters. Some schools do them all at once though.

my back up plan WAS staying at the school I'm currently at, as they are starting a new Masters of URP this fall or maybe next spring? Soon, at least.
