UIC studio culture

thebeigecity

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the studio culture at UIC? Is it commuter and empties out after 9 pm or is it a hive of activity at all hours. I've gotten mixed reviews from past students (none too recent) and culture is an extremely important component of how I will live for the next three years. This is my last lingering doubt of the program after attending the open house and coming away extremely impressed with the studio path and the direction the school is moving in, definitely feels like it's poised for great things. Any thoughts from recent grads would be great. Thanks

I graduated in 2006 (not sure if that is recent enough) but when I was there, the studio had a lot of people in it at all hours. The thing w/ UIC's studio is thatt all grad studios are upstairs and in the same area. So, there will always be peeople around. There were a few people that left and worked from home, so I guess it depends on who you asked.

m.arch studios seem to be generally buzzing and occupied at all hours. undergrad studios seem more empty during off-hours, more commuter-student oriented.
