University of Toronto MLA program

nanookofthenorth

Hi, I'm thinking of accepting an offer from the University of Toronto for their MLA program and I'm wondering what thoughts people have on the program? My intrest is urbanism and urban design and I'd love to hear what people have to say about the MLA at daniels.

I know two people who graduated from that program, both are Americans and both are successfully working now in the United States. I no nothing about the program, but both have really outstanding portfolios of student work. Incidentally, both have very strong digital skills...whether they got them there or before I'm not sure. Good luck.

yes, please post any and all experience with or info about the UT Daniels mla program. Has a sensibility that feels similar to Harvard- but gets overlooked even if great program in a great city.

Uof T seems to be an exceptional MLA program, on par with the best schools south of the border. I was planning on submit my CV to teach there as they want somebody with my predilection for infrastructure & sustainability, but got an offer (which I accepted) from the U of MN (that doesn't require moving).

The Canadian license situation complicates things for US practitioners looking to move north, but for students, you get an accredited degree that is accepted by CLARB, so you can practice anywhere. It just becomes a challenge if you are already licensed when you have to meet the province requirements and take their test.
