Format/Style of (Berkeley's) Personal History Statement. Would like your Opinion(s).

BabbleBeautiful

I'm in the revision process of this statement and have sent it out to a couple of my friends for review. The style is currently NOT in the traditional 5-6 paragraph format, and I'm biting at my fingernails whether it's a good idea or not. What I've done is that I started with a two sentence anecdote of my own device. Then each of the seven short and succinct paragraphs has a one word heading. At the very end is another 1-2 sentence anecdote which is tied in with the one in the beginning. Both anecdotes, of course, are all encompassing of my essay.

However, the paragraphs are written in such a fashion that if I did remove the headings and anecdotes it would make one fluid and traditional essay.

One of my friends who is an english graduate major doesn't like it and would rather have it in the traditional essay format. Another friend who's into journalism likes it.

What do you think?
