Pratt: Dormitory? Apartment?
I am a korean student who recently have made a decision to attend Pratt (Undergraduate)
I have a fiancee, and she will be working when we move to NYC.
I will get married on coming Jul, and start my academy from Aug.
I wonder living in a dorm for at least one semester in a new school will help me knowing school life better.
If I get to live in a dorm, my fiancee will stay in Korea until Dec, and she and I will have to be seperated for few months. Pratt does not offer family housing. But I will be considering living in a dorm if it helps me. My fiancee also has some business better to take care in Korea.
I don't like living separatly with her when I will be 'just married' husband. But I want to know the opinions of yours.
I go to Pratt right now and I absolutely suggest you get an apartment. Generally it's cheaper if you find roommates but if you have the option to get your own, it'll benefit you greatly. There are a lot of apartments around this area and a lot of upperclassman (and some freshman) students opt to live off-campus. You won't miss out on the campus life or anything either since it's such a small school and it's a fairly tightly-knit community. If you have any questions shoot me a message.
