I'm really just deciding between these two school right now for a Barch. I also have a pratt offer, but am not quite sure about it.
I think I am mainly concerned about the quality of the undergrad education, March and employment opportunities. I have read some posts concerning RISD's architecture education, but really havent seen anything on USC's architecture education....This is making me a little doubtful about the USC program.
I do also have another critical question. If I am not exactly planning to work within US ( since I will be entering as an international student anyway...). Say I would like to come back to Canada to work or go to Europe or Asia, how will this effect my decision making at this point??
WELL, I am stucking into the same dilemma as you....
I think where you plan to go after graduate is a very important factor when choosing the school....I've just visited the AO from USC, and she told me USC has very closed connection with Asian especially China. So if you want to work in such area, USC can offer you great alumni resource.
But East coast, such as RISD, has connection with Europe....So I guess you can ask yourself where you want to work.
As far as I know, both USC and RISD have excellent B.Arch program...
