After a few years of working in the civil industry, I decided I want to pursue my passion for architecture and I finally put together an application for M.Arch I programs. My background is in structural engineering and construction management, so I have no formal architecture experience nor have ever had an opportunity to take a studio course. I mostly had to come up with my own projects for the portfolio, so any feedback or comments as I hope to improve on my portfolio would be greatly appreciated!
Projects are interesting enough, particularly first project where can read the influence of natural forces through to the final design. Main area to work on is the formatting - page spreads are pretty lacklustre. Take a look at architecture magazines, articles and other portfolios for ideas, and don't be afraid of having more full bleed images.
Also, think pages 2-3 (collage?) and 40-41 (3D modelling) aren't adding anything and can be removed; ending with your built projects would be far better as well as making you stand out from most other applicants. Best of luck with this!

Looks like waveform is level and apartment's tilted
Thank you for the feedback! I definitely was trying to "let the pages breathe" as I didn't want to overdo it on the full bleed, but I'll definitely look to be more aggressive with the presentation.
As for the built projects, I'm glad to hear as I was unsure about that entire section. Thanks again.
I agree with others here: excellent content, but portfolio needs additional development on the page layout design to get to the next level.
I am decades out of academia, but I do sense that hand drawing is hot in USA schools right now. It's probably a reaction against the ease and ubiquity of photo realistic computer rendering. It could also be perhaps a corrective to recent generations of students that went through school and manually drew/sketched little to nothing.
I greatly appreciate the feedback. All the portfolio examples I've seen were done digitally. Having no true academic prompts, I was aiming to develop my own projects/thoughts through a hand drawn design process. I'll continue this trend but work on trying to deliver a better presentation. I'll likely need to break my page layout more often with additional full-page spreads. Thanks for your comment!

i love to see the hand drawn elements. it brings a lot of depth to your portfolio
Thank you. This is very encouraging, I'll continue to develop more hand drawings.
