GSD MAUD vs MIT SMArchS Urbanism
Where is the best place to study urban design and urbanism?
Those who know about the schools, can you tell me how different they are? Plus, the overall reputation these schools have in the real world.
Both of the schools are ridiculously good and ridiculously tough to get into. Where Harvard MAUD is more design oriented, MIT SMArchS Urbanism is more research oriented. If you want something that’s design with obv research too, go for MAUD at GSD. If you’re into research have a few papers and research ideas but also wanna do design studio, go for MIT.
You see GSD is Design (Research) and MIT is Research (Design), the ones in the bracket are there in the program but inferior. If you have any questions, hit me up.
